United Kingdom – Al-Qaeda terrorists in Syria have been ordered to target the Queen at British sporting events such as Wimbledon and Cheltenham races. The terror group's English-language magazine (Inspire) lists a series of recommendations for British jihadists to carry out "lone wolf" attacks at high-profile venues. The magazine, published in the Arabian Peninsula, lists Britain as Al-Qaeda's biggest target after America. The article comes as it is revealed the top five MI5 and MI6 operations involve tracking British terrorists trained in Syria.
In Northern Ireland on the 28 Mar 14 a mortar bomb and a command wire were found during a security alert the previous evening. The device was found on the junction of Shaw’s Road and Glen Road in West Belfast. The terrorist group the Irish Republican Army (IRA) were thought to be responsible but a male was arrested. Although the Provisional Irish Republican have placed terrorism behind them and entered a political process there have been several splinter groups who wish to continue the old ways. Terrorist groups such as The Real Irish Republican Army, the Continuity Irish Republican Army and the latest terrorist organisation to rise the Irish Republican Army. Although terrorist incidents are small they have also failed to be effective.
